ECZEMA? STEROID VS NATURAL
Eczema, an existing skin condition that plagues a huge population of our planet, typically due to various allergens like food, dust, pretty much anything. Identifying the cause of eczema for an individual can be difficult considering the many try and errors one might have to go through. Even by running tests, an eczema sufferer’s blood would have to be tested against thousands of variants to be able to possibly identify the root cause of their eczema.
A treatment common in western medicine is topical steroids. A fast acting medication to relieve the eczema symptoms in order to allow the skin to begin the process of healing. A known steroid for eczema is corticosteroids or just typically known as topical steroid. Special care must be taken when using these steroids for eczema treatment. It is not advised to use the steroids as a moisturiser, just as a medication to relieve symptoms of eczema.
Fast and effective though it may be, it comes with baggages of side effects common in those that use steroids for their eczema.
Debates have occurred discussing the use of steroids versus natural remedies for eczema. An upside about steroids is its extensive research and long standing reputation in the medical world of western medicine.
Unfortunately the same cannot be said for natural remedies. That being said, slow but progressive research has built the ground for natural eczema solutions. As we progress into further modernisation, we are slowly rediscovering the wonders of ancient traditional medicine for eczema through various natural methods such as plant oils (essential and carrier) and honey. With this discovery, natural remedy users have experienced favourable results in that the use of quality natural oils on eczema can reduce inflammation, redness, relieve itch and at the same time, moisturising and strengthening the skin.
